The First Presbyterian Church of Pooler is a group of Christian men and women who have been humbled by the grace of God. We long to grow in our knowledge and love of Jesus and therefore grow in our grasp of the hope that God provides us in the gospel! We have no intention of simply keeping this good news to ourselves. We exist for the very purpose of holding out the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community, our country and our world.
Since our founding days, we have sought to both hold firmly to the historic truths of the Scriptures and to follow the example of Jesus who was a friend of sinners. Many believe that they have to chose between these two but we seek to do both. Therefore, we will seek to study the Bible consistently and seriously, believing all that God has said and done. And we will attempt to simply meet any visitor where ever they are: whether struggling with doubts or struggling with sin.
As God has been gracious to us when we did not deserve it, we long for others to hear that Jesus stands ready to save and sanctify. Our hope is that God will continue to use us mightily in this city that we love!
Rev. John Fender is the founding Pastor of First Pres. Pooler and has served as the Pastor for now 14 years. Please take a moment to hear him personally invite you to join us one Sunday soon!
